on figuring out who i am & what i want
I love you. I am so giddy that you shared about my newsletter - thank you SO much my dear friend! Your joy corner is so joyous - I can't stop staring at it. Also, this: "We can’t simply take the medication or feed ourselves vegetables or drink water or take a walk or have our hobbies or creative passions or go to therapy or have a social life–we have to figure out how to do all of them, just the right amount that isn’t draining or depleting." HITS HOME. Sending you a big, big squeeze.
I'm in the same space. ♥️ I just finished my Ph.D. but don't plan on becoming a professor or doing any of the standard academic things and am figuring out what's next. I also had a flare up of a chronic autoimmune disease starting in November. So I've been in the flurry of doctors appointments and finishing my degree along the many other things life throws at you. Thank you for the reminder to take care of ourselves and acknowledging the work that comes with trying to navigate that balance.
I am absolutely in the same place, Sam! My weeks are filled with therapy, physical therapy, doctor’s appointments and then my jobs that allow me to receive that care. It is so hard to take care of yourself when it is so exhausting.
